Six Signs that Your Child has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Have you noted some odd behavior from your child? If the answer Is yes, try and get to the bottom of it. If the problem continues for a long period of time, you can test them for ADHD. ADHD testing is difficult since the symptoms vary from one child to another. Below are signs of ADHD.

The Child Exhibits a Self Focused Behavior

A child who has ADHD becomes self-centered. They do not care about other people's wishes and desires. This is dangerous because other kids try to avoid them because of this self-centeredness. They become bullies and always force their way through everything.

A Child with ADHD Cannot Sit Still

Children with this disorder usually find it hard to stay sited in one place for a long period of time. They are always trying to fidget, jump, scream or even run around. It is therefore not a wise idea to force such children to sit down in one place for a very long period of time. Always ensure that you occasionally provide them with a different environment.

They Lack Focus

If your child has ADHD they will have a hard time maintaining focus over a long period of time. You can speak directly with them but they will not be paying attention. To determine whether they were paying attention, ask them to repeat what you just said. Lack of focus usually leads to low grades.

They Do Not Finish Up Projects

Before starting a project they may exhibit a great desire to go on with it. However, they tend to leave the projects unattended after spending some time on it. This can be attributed to the low concentration levels and the inability to stay in one place for a long period of time. This contributes to poor grades since their studying is hindered.   Read more great facts on symptoms of add,  click here.
